HOMESTEAD PARK - PEET

Public BBQ

Homestead Park sits on the expanding edge of Melbourne's suburban sprawl, where Botanic Ridge meets the countryside in that peculiarly Australian way of new developments bumping up against paddocks. The BBQ facilities here are refreshingly straightforward – no pretense, just solid equipment that works. What strikes you immediately is how the designers understood families: the playground is positioned just close enough that you can flip sausages while keeping one eye on the children's adventures. The park has that pleasant newness of a community still finding its rhythm, with wide open spaces that suggest the developers were generous with land. On weekends, it fills with families who've discovered this little pocket of suburban tranquility, where the air still carries hints of the rural landscape that once dominated this corner of Victoria.
